Pamela Simonson

Pamela Simonson is a fifth generation native New Yorker. The lyric soprano currently performs in the chorus of the Washington National Opera and has been a featured soprano with the American Center of Puccini Studies. She has also been the featured soloist for The George Abbott Way, Cotton Fields to Concert Halls, the Fauré Requiem, and in concert halls throughout Europe with Joubert's Glory Gospel Singers.

Ms. Simonson's stage and scene experience includes
, Cosi fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte, Turn of the Screw, Candide, Porgy and Bess, Le Nozze di Figaro, Joshua, and Les Mamelles di Tirésias. She has also performed under the baton of Robert Shaw in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, sung with Voices Saintpaulia, New York City, frequently performs the soprano solo in Handel's Messiah, and has served as Soprano Section Leader for New York churches.

Her recent performance with soprano Kishna Davis, on the eve of the Congressional Black Caucus, during the highly acclaimed Paintings, Poetry, Puccini, and Pasta event, was noted as "Miss Simonson's execution of Puccini was delightfully and refreshingly brilliant!" Pamela has also starred in the off-Broadway stage reading production of Bring in The Morning, performed with the University of Rochester Gospel Choir, and has been the featured soprano soloist at Rochester's Lilac Festival.

Pamela obtained degrees in Music including; Bachelor of Music degree from Eastman School of Music in Vocal Performance, Master's degree from Manhattan School of Music, NYC, where she also served as Assistant to the Director of Students for the Preparatory Division. She serves as Director of Music at Henson Valley Montessori School and is currently pursing Professional Certification in Orff Schulwerk Music Studies from George Mason University, VA.
  Ms. Simonson sits on Board for the non profit C.A.A.P.A, Inc. (Coalition of African Americans in the Performing Arts, Inc.)

She has studied with Hilda Harris, Rosemary Crouse, Dale Moore, and has coached with Melvin Jordan. She and her brother Victor perform concerts and are hailed as
